Is there a message board for therapists?

<t>My son's ex-OT (ex only because he aged out of the EI program - I *love* her) has lots of questions (there aren't many therapists in our area that she can discuss BPI with - and she recently started working with another BPI child). I know that she would benefit from (and would greatly enjoy) a me...

Re: acromioplasty

<t>Crystal,<br/> <br/> I just wanted to let you know that I talked with Dr. Nath a couple of days ago and he said that he would be doing the acromios again - he hoped in Aug/Sept. So, if you feel that that is the right way to go, you may still be able to. He said that he will be doing the surgeries ...

OBPI and scoliosis

I have read different things about OBPI and scoliosis and I am wondering if they frequently go hand in hand (something I read recently led me to believe that it is *very* common for kiddos w/OBPI to develop scoliosis)?

TIA!

Re: Prayers need for our premature granddaughter

<r>Kath,<br/> <br/> You will all be in my prayers - especially Grace Mary.<br/> <br/> I have a 33 weeker that was 3 lbs 9 ozs at birth. There is a terrific wensite about preemies (medical stuff and emotional support, too). It is <URL url="http://www.preemie-l.org">http://www.preemie-l.org</URL>. The...

Re: acromioplasty resked...

Not ours. I was just wondering when that might happen. I think that I remember Lisa D saying that the *earliest* would be June/July, but that she expected more toward the end of the year.

Re: What type of doc delivered your child?

<t>OBGYN delivered<br/> <br/> SD noted in records - I honestly can't remember if he mentioned it in the delivery room<br/> <br/> I again don't remember if any manuevers were used (awful, I know - but I was very out of it and in a lot of pain) - I believe that the record says something about using "a...

Question for those familiar w/IEPs

<t>What is the criteria for "Other Health Impaired"?<br/> <br/> My oldest son is coded for speech and Other Health Impaired, but that is due to his Tourettes Syndrome and ADHD - I'm now wondering if BPI would/could fall into that coding as well....?<br/> <br/> And if so, would that allow for related...

Re: Is Dr. Shenaq also performing the Acromio surgery?

<t>Thank you for your responses.<br/> <br/> I also emailed Angel and just heard back that Dr. Nath is scheduled to do my son's surgery.<br/> <br/> I wasn't worried about which surgeon would be performing the surgery (not sure that I made that clear in my original post). Dr. Shenaq did Michael's Mod ...

Is Dr. Shenaq also performing the Acromio surgery?

<r>I was just wondering.... My son is scheduled for the acromio 4/13 and I was startled to find out that there is another BPI family that lives w/in walking distance of me and their child is scheduled for MQ on the same day.<br/> <br/> We have never actually met (we've only talked on the phone twice...

Re: What happened immediately after your birth?

<t>I guess that I am in the "lucky" group (if there is one on this board!)<br/> <br/> After my son was born, he was very swollen and purple and began to have breathing difficulties. His limp right arm was noticed right away (BTW, my OB was down the hall delivering another baby. He had felt that that...
