Re: how do usualy ur bpi baby sleep
Hello Carolyn
I'm sorry, i should introduce my self and my sweet baby Omar.
My name is Noha ,i'm Egyptian live in Emirates and Omar 5 months old,he is my second baby the first baby is a boy also 3 years
omar will go for primary surgery with Dr.Alain Gilbert from France on 26/6 please pray for him i'cant imagin that day
he has a wonderful PT she is a philipinen girl knows a lot about BPI
There is no BPI specialist here (maybe i'm wrong),most of them Orthopedic or plastic surgen or nurlogist who care about BPI people.
Not all of people here have a medical insurance like USA most of them pay from thier pocket especialy for private hospital.
I think I'll create group and web page for BPI support soon with Arabic language to help people in Arabic countries because no BPI support group here
Good luck for all

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.

Hello Noha,
It is good to meet you and know more about both you and Omar. There are families all over the world in UBPN's network. Please keep us informed of how Omar's surgery goes and of his progress after, OK?
Noha, children are very resilient...they take things in stride and bounce back/heal very well. My son had 14 surgeries before age 18(non-BPI), it was easiest when I took one day, one surgery at a time and focused on keeping him comfortable as possible that day. I didn't allow myself to think ahead, & there was much to do to keep me busy & I am sure you will be too.
You both are in my prayers,Noha.
Hugs to you all,
Carolyn J

Re: how do usualy ur bpi baby sleep
Jody slept on his left side- he is ROBPI. When he was a newborn, we placed him in a "cheese". I guess its called a baby sleep positioner. Once they are old enough to roll and lift their heads, I took the "cheese" away and laid them on their backs and they end up on their side anyway.

omars mom- i wanted to say hi and welcome. Good luck with surgery. prayer works. my son had primary at 10 months and it lasted 10 hours. I have never been as calm as I was that day. I prayed and gave it all to God.
