Mod Quad
Re: Mod Quad
First, as every child is different in their BPI, I would discuss these questions with Dr. Nath.
I can tell you that my daughter hed the Mod Quad when she was 2 and we got A LOT of results from that surgery.
It didn't come all at once, but it certainly helped her movement and her positioning (ROPBI).
Emma only spent one night in the hospital and didn't have any problem with pain or the splinting. In fact, when we got hom from Houston, she pinned her older brother to the floor after chasing him around with the statue of liberty splint and I was no longer worried how she would do in that splint!
She stayed splinted for 6 weeks, day and night (but she also had some other procedures done--some muscle releases and the shoulder capsoledesis (sp?) and then another 6 weeks only at night.
