It is NOT your fault in the least so please try not to do that to yourself. The true responsibility lies in the physicians hands. They are suppossed to be the trained and skilled professional. It is THEIR job not yours and they should never be applying excessive traction to a baby's head. It is NOT how you release a baby, it is how you injure a baby. There are several options that are successful. As far as the lawsuit goes your thoughts may change as time passes. You may reach a time where the injury is worse then you thought it would be and the impact greater than you ever imagined. Also the financial impact on your family and your child's future especially if insurance stops covering needed things like therapy, etc. I personally feel that we should have our child's future needs closest to our heart and they are the ones that should be compensated. They have to live with a lifelong injury. I pursued a case for my child and I believe the doctor was the cause of the unnecessary injury. Good luck to you. Things will become clearer in time, one way or the other.
