My son had the mod quad last summer and it took a long time for his elbow to come down. We were concerned about it but were told that it was normal. First he began bringing it down while playing, and then while walking. Now, he still holds it up somewhat while running, although it seems to me at this point that it's habit, and compared to what it had been, I'm pleased with what I see.

Alexyss is almost 6 months after MQ. Her elbow was like that, but now she has straightened it out more. I think after at least 6 months you don't see a change then call and talk to someone. It is hard; I know! We are still having problems with Alexyss's shoulder sloping and her not reaching mid-line at all! Good luck and I hope everything turns out well!

Justice is almost 8 weeks post had surgery on Feb 24th. After we took the splint off last month during the day her arm would be stuck in that same postion for a while. If I didnt encourage her to move her arm out of that postion she would just keep it like that proabably cause that is the postion which is comfortable to her. To make this short we did call TCH. They said to do her ROMs all in the tub to lossen her arm up and ease it more. Thats alot of baths though but we do that . SHe has her suit on in the tub. Now when her splint comes off she moves her arm more freely. without holding it in that postion. The only thing that concerns me at this pt is her scalpula seems like its getting stuck again. Her ROM have improved though according to the pt and I see they have too. My therapist does not want to learn more about this injury either. I give her websites after websites to visit paper work to read. I ask her to learn about taping and splinting but when I ask her the next week what she thought about those sites and papers I asked her read she had no clue cause she doesnt even bother to read them. THe sad thing is there reports reflect on us too. They are not allowed to put there personal opionions in those reports I would tell your PT to take her/his remarks off your reports. My last pt I had in their reports everything is the right side and the sad thing its Justice Left arm. He worked on the left arm the whole time but in all those reports it makes it seem like he did the right. Thats all for now I m done blabbing now. Take care.
