Francine, I will be emailing you soon, thanks! Tom, you are hilarious! Thanks for the great ideas and encouragement. I had Lexi practice for ten minutes tonight, then gave her a five minute break and tried to get ten more minutes out of her. She only gave me five, but I just said, "Great job!" It was five minutes longer that last night! :)

I hope Lexi can meet some of you some day. We would really love to attend the next camp. You all are a great encouragement to us!

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI
no external rotation against gravity, can only go to 90 degree fwd flexion, no hand-to-mouth
1 surgery at age 14 (latissimus dorsi transfer). In 2004, at age 28 I was struck with Transverse Myelitis which paralyzed me from the chest down. I recovered movement to my right leg, but need a KAFO to walk on my left leg. I became an RN in 2008.

Amy - 10 minutes is a good practice session for a newbie and a young one.
We make due with 10 minutes quite often and it does the job.
HOWEVER..... 10 minutes can become triple worthwhile if she listens to the music CDs of the songs she is practicing
I read a story about a study done about that and it said that the kids who listened to the music did way better than kids who just practiced. So if she did 10 minutes of hands on and 10 minutes of listening to the music you're getting quite a bang for your buck! :P (that is why when you are doing suzuki lessons, you get the book and the CD of the music)

I saw something else here(music) Oh I Love Music ;) I think any form of dance Is great for bpi!! ;) The best things are to me is doing stretch by some thing you love to do like me driving a semi for years. :D

I still like dancing Disco to day , when I can! ;) :D
