- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Nancy,
Your plan to pre-screen persons who register is a great idea! I hope it is allowed by the software used here.
SPammers always ruin it for all of us who really need the Boards.
I miss all of you too, Marieke, and cannot wait for UBPN's Camp 2009 also!

Carlyn- Hello old friend. We certainly haven't shared much lately.
I just want you to know I think of posting you quite often but as it is I get caught up in someone else's posting and lose myself.
If I'm not mistaken you are kind of a mentor to me. Way back when I was first visiting UPN I was lost and trying to find my way and being so you found me in probably OBP. You suggested I would benefit more in TBP or even General. At the time I wasn't even conscious of other areas. I was too astounded reading about OBP. So for that I tip my hat to you and thank you sincerely.
I've not been handling my own TBPI too well lately and is cause for concern to me. I feel a lot of good souls reaching out for me and I feel I've not much to offer any longer. Lately my fingers on my LTBPI have swollen to a gross proportion. I've no way of telling what could be causing this or if it's normal. I don't know what to do about it or where to turn. Maybe someone who reads this can tell me it'll pass.
On another note of grave concern to me is the ever increasng numbers joining the club that nobody wants to join. It bothers me and I can only hope the compassion found in our message boards and the wealth of information shared by others will help these people as much as we can.
Thank you for being who you are Carolyn.
I'll bet if I could get to Mexico with Fredrik and Christopher and the rest I would turn a new leaf and possibly dig myself out of this private hell of mine and maybe, just maybe find a new purpose for my life. Until then it is one hour at a time.
Good night and may God Bless.
Scott
