Re: Camp UBPN 2007
Way to go on picking a place! Thanks for all the very hard work to any one who helped get this capm going!
Attending the camp last year was an amazing opportunity!!!! That was my first time ever meeting other bpi people and what a wonderful experience it was! Every one was so great to me.
Getting to camp can be very hard and expensive but trust me, it is totally worth it!!! I had to work all summer last year to be able to go to camp but it was worth every hour and every penny. I am so excited to see every one that I met at the last camp and every one that is new to camp! I know if you go you will have a great time! Especially with all the fun activities they have set up for this year!
Cant wait for next fall!
Big Hugs,
Amy 19 ROBPI from MN

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I can't wait to meet you too!
I always look forward to meeting, in person, people I have only e-mailed and met via the boards...
And of course seeing some old friends who live across the world...
Here's hoping our friends from the UK will join us.
I come home from camp feeling renewed and almost young again... LOL...

Camp in Washington State sounds fabulous. It's beautiful up there. I can't wait to meet other people just like me. I'm 26, but feel like a little kid who finally gets a dream come true... I'm not alone with this injury! I'm sure I'll drag my mom along with me. Should be really fun!

P.S. Can we have a massage therapist on hand? That's my favorite thing.

Re: Camp UBPN 2007
Hi All,
I am really excited about doing camp again next Labor Day Week-end. Staci thanks for the suggestion, I have it on my list of ideas to bring to the board at our board meeting next month.
I can't wait to meet all the new people that have found us and also to see all our UBPN families from the past 3 camps.
If anyone needs to email me, you can reach me at karen@ubpn.org and please put camp in the subject line so I know it isn't spam.
Yes WA State is a beautiful state. I am hoping you all can come and see for yourselves.
Hugs,
Karen

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.
