Re: God Bless Anyone in the area affected by Katrina
Cherie, hang in there. I know today is hard for you. I will pray for your family, and keep you inmy thoughts. Sandi
PS. I just found ou this morning that my cousin has moved from San Antonio, where I thought she was living, to Lousianna. I am waiting on my Uncle to call us with word on how she is. The weather reports sound so grim. As a child I lived here in the same area during Hurricane Allicia. It was bad. I have seen many other small storms, but I havent seen anything this strong since. I know about the days after and how hard they will be.

Cheri,
thanks for the update! The news pictures are so horrible! It's good you got to talk to them and at least you know (even if there is so much damage) they are alive.
I'm still awaiting that news from New Orleans, 9th ward area, which I'm afraid I will not know anything for weeks... and from the North Bank, etc.
All are in our thoughts and prayers!
Peggy

Peggy, some people that evacuated from the 9th ward area are staying at my job. They lost everything. Everything in St. Bernard parish is under water. Their homes, the nursing home, everything. It is horrible to see these people sitting and crying at the tv photos. One lady has not heard from her husband yet.
Please keep these people in your prayers. They will be here for a while and have nothing to go home to.

Mandie, good to hear you are safe. I knew you where inland but not sure how far.
There is another mom, Amanda, whose daughter Whitney has a BPI. They live in Houma, LA. I hope they are OK.

Mandie,
Any chance you've met a man named E.J. Phillips?
I'm sure you couldn't possibly have met everyone there, but on the off chance???

It is so hard to watch. I can't believe what I'm seeing on tv. I wish I could help. My husband works for Home Depot and he said they are sending teams from all the Houston stores. The generators are all gone, the evacuees(sp?) from the affected areas are buying them for when they go home. My Mom works as a DM for a vendor at Loews, She has signed up to go also. Mandie...how close are you to the coast? Peggy and Cherie, keep us posted......
