TES placements
I posted this on the network 54 board as well, so sorry if you have to read this twice. On a side note-it's kinda hard having two boards!
Anyway, We just got our TES machine yesterday and used it for the first time last night. Brooke is only 6 months old & grabbing and chewing on everything! I'm so worried she is going to wrap herself in the electrode cords or chew on the wires. She slept in my bed last night because I was so worried. Does anyone have any tips?
Thanks!
Lauren

Re: TES placements
Hi Lauren-
My son Evan has been using the TES unit since January, he is 14 months old. I have made him a pouch out of his left over splint padding from his Mod Quad surgery last Nov. You can e-mail me with questions.

Re: TES placements
Brooke has a shirt on over the electrodes so she doesn't get at the placements, but how do (did) you guys prevent your children from putting the wires in their mouth? Also, Brooke rolls around a lot at night, so I'm worried if I strap the machine around her waist she'll be very uncomfortable. Mabye I just won't sleep for the next few years..lol! The way I feel today, I don't think I'll make it that long!
Jennifer, do you see Audrey Yasakawa at La Rabida? She was talking about a child in our session yesterday & it sounded just like Peyton.
Thanks for all the help everyone!

Re: TES placements
Should I request TES therapy from the doc or OT or both? Javier is 13 months old and 5 months post- primary, i am ready to get this started.

Re: TES placements
You can use this stuff called "vet wrap" or "coban".. it is like a very light ace bandage that comes in great colors that sticks to itself and you can hide the wires that way. But you have to do it loosely.
When my child was younger I would buy tight long sleeve undershirts and that hid the electrodes and the wires.
Also, Marlyn, it has to be decided that Javier actually needs it. The BPI specialist can do that assessment.
