YIPPEEE SOME RECOVERY...
Hi haven't posted in while..Eoghan is now 16mo and 9mo post op and I am seeing some inspiring movements
Since xmas he has been able to move his arm up gradually more each week and he is now able to raise it around 50 degrees upwards and also outwards from his body,he can bend it slightly at elbow to pick things up and has controlled movements with the hand even managing to put shapes into sorter with erbs arm!!
We are starting e stim on him the CRC are loaning me the equipment to do it at home which is really nice they did a session on Wed and he withstood it quite well so hopefully it'll help.
I am just so proud of Eoghan for all his accomplishments and how bright he is to adapt to what he wants to do.He is so aware of his arm now constantly holding it and bringing it into play he even pushed his cousin around the zoo on easter in her buggy using both hands...
This board gave me so much "knowledge" that I've needed in the last year I would've been lost without it and to see new mums post this year makes me so sad as it brings back how desperate I felt in that first few months and how unfair that its still happening but my salvation was this site so hopefully they'll get as much out of it as I did..

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Thanks for sharing your good news. I think sharing good news is important to all of us because it bring hope for the new parents... and joy for old OBPI's like me to see the children making such great progress... clapping for Eoghan ability to meet new challenges.

Re: YIPPEEE SOME RECOVERY...
Congrats on the great news! Which surgery did Eoghan have? Our son is 8 months old and two months past Mod Quad. We've seen a little recovery, but it's great to hear that you are still seeing more recovery as the months go by.
We are also looking into doing estim at home. Maybe I'll write you directly to hear how that is going for you.
It breaks my heart also to read every post from a new mom dealing with this. Doesn't it seem like the whole world should have learned (somehow) from our personal experience? Thanks to all who are doing awareness work.
