Found GREAT aquatic therapist in Philadelphia!!

Post by francine »

Maia had her first aquatic session (since we found this new Aquatic PT). The pool was AWESOME- the temp was perfect (water AND air). The therapist is awesome too. We had a great session - although it was not particularly a therapy session - more of a "get acquainted - let's play together" session. Maia was able to recover some range in the water with the weightlessness...she almost immediately got visible relief from some of the pain and was so happy to see her arm move again. Pure joy! She's only going to see her one more time before her surgery and then once the splint is off we will be going there as much as the insurance will allow or we can afford for out-of-pocket for her post surgical rehab. It's amazing to see the difference when you have a person who is actually TRAINED in AQUATICS !!! Email me if you want the phone number and name....I will post it to the aquatics page, too.

I'm so happy for you and esp. for Maia. That's great about the pain relief. Do they have memberships available so you can go even more often than you can see the therapist? This might be the best pain relief you'll be able to find for Maia and might want to spend time in the pool aside from the pool therapy. Just a thought. I can relate to how you feel about the Aqua PT. I am sooo happy with our Aqua PT. I really missed her when she was on leave for a while and I kept hounding her boss to findout when she'd be back. She told me that they called her at home on her leave to tell her about me calling. LOL! Well, it was all worth it in the end b/c she's back and we've been on her schedule 2x/wk for a few months now. I think that the combination of the warm water and Cathie have made a great impact on Nicole's recovery. I have you to thank again and again for introducing us to aqua therapy. Thank you and sharing in your joy!
