Handicap plate
Well, I finally did it. I asked for a handicap plackard for the car. The Dr. thought I already had one. His comment was, " If anyone needs one, you do". It's for life. I think it will really make a difference.
Also, wanted to see if anyone gets headaches centered at the top of the head with toothach feelings that extend down the neck into the arms. Dr. thinks it might be another cervical compression--this time at C-2. Will find out next week. He--and the surgeon--refuse to admit that Erb's has anything to do with it. Am also seeing a hand specialist to see if antything new as far as finger joints.
Anyone else??? Pat

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I am so happy you got the tag. It really has changed my life. I did not realize I had stopped going to do some of the shopping I needed to do unless I was with someone. Hey I like to shop alone I move faster and get more! Judy got one too finally...
I have had headaches for the last few weeks I never did before but the pain in my neck and spine has increased over the last few months... I just have not felt like talking to the doctor about it for the same reason you mentioned... they don't know how to connect the dots... spinal injury as infant... life long damage.......
Glad to see you posting I missed you
Its been so quiet here

Re: Handicap plate
My mom went into the hospital almost 3 months ago for what was supposed to be a hernia repair. When the Dr. got in thier he had to repair her esophagus. It shredded due to the acid eating away at it and she had an esophagectomy. She has been on a respirator since that time--is awake and alert, but has lost her will to live. I've just gone back to work after a 2 month LOA and have just not had time to type--or the energy.
Thanks. Pat
Thanks. Pat

I'm so glad you got the tag.I put it off for many years. What a difference it makes! As for your pain,I understand.Had a decompression done 4 yrs ago.I have a chiari1 along with erbs.Thank God I found a dr.who realized it was all connected. He told me All my disabilities stem from birth trauma. My nerves were pulled out of spine at c2-c6.Prognosis is take one day at a time. That's what I do.Gog has blessed me in so many ways. That is wehat I focus on.I'm not a Pollyanna.I have many pity parties.I've earned them. Please find a dr. who connects it all.I know how hard and frustrating it is.You will be in my prayers.
God Bless You

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom that is so rough for you both. I will keep her in my prayers.
Now wonder you have been away. I hope the tag will give you some relief from trying to carry stuff to far and help you to get around more.
