Disneyworld
Hi everyone. Its been a long long time since i posted on here but have had the occasional lurk!! For anyone who doesnt know or remember me, i am 31 ROBPI, and only found out a name for my tooky arm 3 years ago.
As you can see i am from Scotland, and in October me and my daughters will be visiting Orlando for 2 weeks to see the mouse!!
My question is are there any of the rides at Disney which would be totally unsuitable for me to go on? (i am right OBPI and have had an athrodesis done on my shoulder (they broke it and set it back together with plates and screws then set it to move no more than 45 degrees).
The thing is, i dont want to end up getting hurt just for the sake of a fairground ride!! The rides i am especially thinking of are Rock n Rollercoaster and Mission:Space
Any help here would be much appreciated
Janny

Re: Disneyworld
Janny - I suggest you get this book
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 98-4956619
it lists ALL the rides and has a lot of good information so that you could probably decide in advance what you should go on and what you shouldn't
I would think it would be any ride where they give you a shoulder harness or an over the shoulder harness which means that it'll be a rough ride and they need to find a way to keep you in.
Definitely don't go on the Dinosaur ride in the Animal Kingdom, it really shakes your body up harshly.
The Mars Mission (space) is extremely rough on your body (and your psyche) as you already guessed. The race car ride next to it might whip you around a bit much also.
Do you have any problem in the heat? or waiting in line? (I'm asking because I know that my daughter gets over-heated really fast on the bpi side because she doesn't sweat on that side.) Because if you do, you can get a handicapped pass which will allow you (and your family) to bypass the lines.
I hope you have a great trip! Catch all the 3D movies, they are a riot!

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I weighed 11 lbs. 4 oz. when I was born.
I was delivered by forceps which resulted in my ROBPI.
I've never had any surgical intervention. - Location: Williamsport PA
Re: Disneyworld
Hi, I get Migraines and I'm ROBPI too. I'm not sure if this will help but I've been on the Rockin Roller Coaster. That ride did it for me, it was fun in a way but not worth it ever again. It's too wicked and the fast start was just the beginning.
I've never been on the Mission Space so I can't judge that one.
I'm also interested to see what others think.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Heat should not be an issue in October! We have been there in October and the weather has been great. Have a great time! Wish I was going too!
