what the kid CAN do
Re: what the kid CAN do
I just wanted to add that there is a big difference in the different types of Karate and Okinawan Karate is not about tournaments as they are only done rarely and only for fun. I do not feel tournaments are strongly encouraged at all.
If anyone is considering it, I have to say I was really against Karate until I actually saw an Okinawan Karate class and it has been wonderful.

Re: what the kid CAN do
Thank you Claudia. You brought tears to my eyes. As a new mom (7 week old Ashleigh has right obpi), I'm overwhelmed by it all. Initially, I was very optimistic and not upset. As time has gone by I've become more nervous about "what if she doesn't get better" and "what will her life be like?". Hearing about your Juliana has given me hope again. I just want the best for my Ashleigh and knowing that a child who has suffered from a obpi can do all the things other children can do is reassuring. Congrats to your daughter for doing the rock wall when the other girls were too afraid. I think that is great!! Thank you for such a positive and reassuring post!
