Jack's mod quad 6 weeks ago...
Hello. I am finally able to get to the computer. (Surgery/Holidays). For my 9 year-old son Jack had his first surgery: Mod Quad was 6 weeks ago. For 4 weeks he couldn't really move his arm. I was terrified. Therapy started at 4 weeks post surgery and the progress has been amazing ever since! His arm is now completely straight!!! 180 degrees!!! from 160 (No biceps lengthening) His hand can open up and fingers go straight for a couple of seconds (still weak). His hand can go to his mouth and he can even put on his socks, as well as take off his splint himself! (He still wears at night) The therapist feels confident that he will regain all function!!! (He was at 65% before surgery) I am overjoyed and so is he. You ahould see the gleam in his eyes! For nine years I have prayed for this recovery and no doctor here in my area had ever given me any encouragement or hope. It was finding Dr. Nath's site 2 years ago that got me started. I am very grateful to him for his dedication to not only his surgical talents but to his technological skills as well.
Thanks to all of your prayers prior to the surgery (they were answered). God bless you all. I will let you know his progress and if he does indeed completely recover from this one surgery!
