introductions

Post by admin »

I thought that I should introduce myself and my daughter. You already know my mom (christy). My name is Kim and Katie is my daughter. Although I read the posts I have not participated until now. I want to let everyone know that my mother is sooo wonderful, without her Katie and I would not have survived. Katie wouldn't be making the progress that she has and I wouldn't be able to fully appreciate what being a mother is all about. I don't think she knows how much she is appreciated and needed. So mom I know you are reading this and I love you.

Hi Kim and Katie, My name is Christy too. My daughter Brittney has a left OBPI and is 9. I think it must be so nice to have your Mom so involved with Katie's injury and understand it. My parents are great and we are close but they really do not understand my daughter's injury. I wish they'd take the time to research it more on this board so they'd understand my family better. I hope that you'll post often and that you'll get the answers you need. There are so many nice and helpful people here - many friends.

I know exactly how you feel, my mom is also very involved with my son. I also don't know what I would do without her support and love! Moms are great!

Thanks Kim but to be honest with you...your Mom wouldn't have wanted be anywhere else but by your and Katie's sides. I personally know just how much she loves the two of you and is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure you girls come out of this OK. Word has it that you two make your mom's heart smile!

Thanks for the appreciation.

As always

Hi,

My name is Krista and I live in Finland. I have two little girls, 4,5 and 2,5 years olds. The younger one (Suvi) has left OBPI. She had a global lesion with C8-T1 avulsions, C7 rupture and C5-C6 neuroma. She was operated when she was 9 ½ weeks old.

Now she is doing great, still improving after 2,5 years!!!

What nice notes...
And it is great to have a Mother who is involved with special need child...My daughters and daughter in law are gifts so I like you Christy am very much part of their daily life.

I am right OBPI and I am the mother of 3 and now the grandmother of 4... So obpi babies do become parents and grandparents too!! I am the grandparent most involved with the kids...
Christy you stole my line...LOL..
My oldest granddaughter will tell you that when I see her my heart sings...now she is 7 and giggles at it..
My grandson will say that my heart jumps for joy when I see him.
My little premmie Megan is my heart sings Allulia
My little Katie lights up my life...LOL...so each child has there own spot.... OK...I am gushing because it was so nice to see both of your notes... and I love being a grandmother and young enough to enjoy the kids...

Hi, Kim. I had a feeling that's who you were when I saw a prior post. I want to say welcome to the boards. I also want to say to both you and your Mom that I enjoyed reading your correspondence here. It sounds like you really have a good relationship together. I personally know that what you said about your Mom is true. She really is very special and I know that she has so much love in her heart for you and Miss Katie. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers esp. over this next week. Best wishes to you. -Tina

oh this post brought tears to my eyes,
I am so glad to see that you ALL are sharing such a wonderful mothering bond- that is so great to have...and for someone who posted that their mom is unable to connect with her on this(I know that to be true for a few others too)...maybe the wonderful closeness that you yourself feel to your special BPI baby will make up for that- I know I am bonded very very closely to my BPI baby-
blessings of blissful mothering experiences!
