Blood Transfusion ?

To all of you nurses out there...(who I do appreciate greatly!) .... how low does your hemoglobin have to be when they suggest a transfusion?

They usually like to transfuse when you get around 7 or below. Hope this helps.

I was wondering because mine (after birth) was at a 7 and I did not get a transfusion...yet when I was in the hospital with my pulmonary embolism I DID get a transfusion at that number.
