- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: 6/12/10 avulsion of several roots due to motorcycle accident. So far I've
had two nerve transfers: intercostal to biceps and spinal accessory to
superscapular. The superscapular is working, holding my shoulder in place so I don't have to wear a sling all the time, and I can 'lift' that arm a few degrees away from my body. The bicep is firing but not enough to flex, yet. - Location: Palo Alto, CA
Re: My new custom cutting board
If you want one, I can make it happen, no problem. I do know other people with access to machine tools, that particular friend was just my best bet - he enjoys working up solutions to problems like that.
The other thing I can do is just draw up what we did, with notes about what should remain standard and what you would change to customize it to your particular situation, if you think you know someone who could handle the machining for you.
Either way, let me know.

Everytime im in the kitchen now I need a helper to hold the veggies and meats that im cutting. It'd be awesome to find tools more helpful to me.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.

Rico, there are Tools for one-handed people/cooks to buy too on Amazon.com. If you go through UBPN's Shopping Link on home page, for Amazon, UBPN gets a small percentage donated.
