- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Miss Elizabeth,
I can't believe that you are posting on the boards. Your Mother has prepared you to take on the challenges we face as OBPI. You know how your injury happened, what was done to gain motions and how to speak up, when you have to.
Welcome to the message boards. You were such a little one when I met your Mom here at UBPN. She has always been a blessing to these Message Board.
Louise,
You are a great Mom! I was lucky enough to have a Mom who prepared me to cope with the world and that was the biggest blessing the Lord gave me. Miss Elizabeth is blessed to have you as a Mom.

kath and elizabeth, the two of you have no idea how lucky you really are. i came from extremely abusive parents. i pretty much raised myself. but i know i am o.k. just like to hear people had good parents. dont forget to tell your parents how valuable they are.

Re: Coping with Palsy as a teen
I use a foam roller and a tennis ball. I find that most of my pain comes from my muscles being tense. Using the foam roller helps to loosen the muscles up.
The tennis ball is a more intense version of the foam roller, I get most of my pain/tension under my scapula (shoulder blade). I put the tennis ball just under the bottom of my scapula and lay on it. It feels akin to getting a deep tissue massage (aka painful) but afterwards my arm feels so loose and awesome and it lasts for a few days.
