assistive devices for winter clothing
assistive devices for winter clothing
My son has severe BPI in right arm/hand.
I'm looking for suggestions and ideas to assist him with keeping his mittens/gloves attached to his coat. Mittens never stay on his hand - always falling off.
I especially worry about this when he is in the school yard and I can't be there to help him.

HAve you ever seen the mittens that are really gloves in the inside. When Brandon was little this is all he would wear. The inside piece is a glove and then there is a mitten top sewn on. So the fingers go through the glove and then they flip the mitten over the top !!! They are awesome. I found our at Wal-mart it was easy to get the fingers through because holes at the end of the glove part. (In old days they were called "SMOKERS MITTENS" because they cound flip the mitten part away and smoke their cigarette. Brandon loved them but now he is able to get a real glove on so he doesn't want them !!! LOL
Hope this helps....Gayle mom to Brandon ROBPI

we still have to use the cheap stretchy gloves, still can't get fingers in other gloves.

we use them too - love them actually
but this year Maia is in the marching band so I'm worried about grip and fingers - I actually found a pair of drumming gloves (with grips on them) that work and have a velcro strip around the wrist to hold them on. What a find!
