No, you didn't confuse me. This is pretty consistent with what I have been reading. The doctor at TCH did say that removal of the hardware was optional? Did you doctor indicate that as well or did he recommend removing it? How long before the hardware is removed? Hi Teresa,
Mitchell's doctor at Shriners just said straight forward that his hardware is to be removed in one year. He told us that within a year the bone is calcified and bonded very well and that the hardware is then removed.
I'm getting my pictures ready to be scanned tonight. I'll send them to Francine and she's going to make a web page. We'll let you know when it's up.
