Surgery

Post by admin »

My daughter sustained her injury during child birth and went through her nerve graph at the age of 5 months. The surgery was sucessful, as she had substained injury to four of the five nereve. Two completely removed from the spine, were as two torn just outside the spine.

Now three and a half years later we are very happy with what the doctors as well as what she has been able to accomplish. However, we have just heard that she is a good candiate for a second muscle surgery that she will undergo in just under two weeks from now.

I am looking to speak to anyone that has had this done or knows of this surgery to please give me some opinions or thoughts.

And for anyone who is interested in here how it goes I would be more then happy to share our experience once its over.

Many thanks,
Kristie

Stephanie,
You might consider posting this on the General Message board as most parents "hang out" there! There is a web site that has a ton of info regarding surgery experiences: http://www.injurednewborn.com/maia/homepage.html
There are two links I think you would be intrested in.. the Secondary Surgery: Mod Quad and Experiences at other hospitals.
Oh yes there is also a chat tonight at 10pm EST that might be helpful in answering your questions as there are parents there that have had to deal with the same things! http://www.injurednewborn.com/chatroom.html
Maybe I will "see" you there!
Blessings and much success on your up coming surgery!
