Carolyn that's a great idea...good luck!

Pat my EMG appt is the 25th too. Hope all goes well.

Question, is it the Ulner Nerve Palsy that makes my hand hurt so much or is it the tendonitis?

My hands hurt because of the arthritis
Three views of the left hand.

Findings. Advanced and diffuse degenerative arthritis of the
distal interphalangeal and proximal interphalangeal joints. The
articular surfaces of the distal interphalangeal joints of the
thumb, long and small fingers are severely deformed. The distal
interphalangeal joint of the ring finger is ankylosed and moderate
degenerative changes are seen in the remainder of the
interphalangeal joints. The metacarpo phalangeal joints and wrist
show relatively normal appearances.

The pronator palsy, carpal tunnel etc probably also causes pain. It causes a lot of numbness and aching, I know. I'll be interested to see what this Dr. has to say. I have not been to him before--I haven't found any of them that relate all of this overuse back to the BPI, though. I don't know why they don't want to even consider it.
Please let me know what you find out.
Good luck

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I have osteoarthritis in both hands. It began on my unaffected hand. One PT and one Orthopedist said that I overused my hands to compensate for the pain and lack of strength in both arms. I think it began in my late twenties or very early thirties. That is when my unaffected arm felt as bad as my obpi arm. When my arm ran out of steam. I began to use my wrist and fingers improperly. No one thought of good OT to help or even sent me for PT with all the pain in my neck and back. They just gave me flexeril and said rest... hmmm with three small children under 5... needless to say I only took the pills when my husband was home...

Has anyone had to change jobs due to early overuse/misuse? I work in an office and I just can't stuff envelopes, fold things like I could a couple years ago. It puts me in such pain.

If I only did Graphics I think I'd be fine, but it's the secretarial work that's taking a toll.

I do business development and place nurses and computer guru's in interim positions. However, I am a nurse by trade and can't grasp the pills or write more than a line or 2 due to the arthritis in my hands, so yes, I was forced to change jobs.
