FYI

I live 40 minutes northwest of New York City in a small town ( by New York Standards...LOL) just the other side of the Hudson River from New York city...

Hi Carrie... I am sure you are busy in the summer getting ready to go back to school.... ?????

As far as accents go... well - I was born in Brooklyn, raised by Irish parents (slight accents) and raised on Longs Island... that means I have such a combination of accents... its hard to tell which is which... but have often been accused having a heavy accent... ( so my kids tell me...LOL...) now I can hear all of yours when you type... since New York is a melting pot of nationalities...
When Michelle and Janny type I hear Scots... when an Aussie type I hear your accent... and as for shouting... WELL I AM GOOD AT THAT....LOL

Hey Carrie, nice meeting you. What is RA? What ever it is, good luck with it : )

Kath, there must be a distinct array in the words different people from different parts of the world type hey. Just how small is your town? The place I was born in and lived in for 9 yrs only has 30’000 people. It’s in central New South Wales and as you may not know, in Aust if you don’t live near the coast, there isn’t much around except blokes in cowboy hats, kangaroos and tourists basically. It’s just flat and brown all yr round… Bugger taking a holiday out there. I’d rather see a different country.
Luckily I escaped to the city, it’s good here; I live half way between Brisbane city and Surfers Paradise (30kms from each). Oh, and my music teacher when I was at high school, was from America, somewhere along the Mississippi I believe, so her accent was pretty strong. Oh and believe me, Australia is a huge melting pot of nationalities…for example, I have Polish, Ukrainian, English, Maori (New Zealand) and according to research my grandmother did before she died, American Indian as well….i look mainly European tho…

Hey Michelle, don’t worry about shouting, you might get funny looks…when I was still under 5 I guess, my parents used to take me to doctors occasionally, but still nothing was explained to me when I grew up. I think my folks suffer from a huge communication problem because they just back away from subjects like this one. All I can ever remember from it was getting a pin stabbed in my arm to tell where I could and couldn’t feel the pain from it. That was a fun 30 minutes. Should have told him to put some ink on it and give me a tattoo…

Well, must be off, today is Monday and I don’t get another day off until Sunday now. I work at sizzler as a grill chef. You americans would know of sizzler. Thanx for your time everyone : )
Rob…

Wow, this is lke 6 posts in one day. . .but they own me for like the next 48 hours, so I might as well because the next time i get near a computer could be weeks. They are the RDs: Resident Directors, they oversee the RAs: Resident Advisors, which are upperclassmen (I'm a senior in college) who live in the dorms with freshmen and kind of enforce the rules and make sure everyone gets along and tries to teach them how to succeed in college. That's the really basic definition anyway. ok, seeya later
Carrie
ps Kath I WILL NEVER HAVE A WESTERN NEW YORK ACCENT!!!They are horrible they don't say soda or miniature golf and its very very bad!
