I dont understand
Hi all. Well i am fillin out this form about my arm and it asks what part of my arm is effected? wot am i supposed to write. cos i dont no.

What is the form for????
It is so hard to explain unless you have some tests to help understand what nerve was injured.
Can you turn your hand palm up?
Can you touch your face?
Can you use your fingers?
Can you raise your arm up over your head...
Maybe some one can help if you tell us more about the way you use your arm...
That is how I first learned what was injured - by the way I moved and what I could and could not do...
Now I have has emg and mri's so I know what is injured....

it is a membership form for an erbs palsy group in the UK.
Well i havent had any tests or that so maybe if i explain you can help me. It sounds quite hard though.
Any way...i can't turn my palm to face the sky just a little bit so it is tilted into my body. i can touch my face with a lot of effort but i can only reach to my chin and it hurts. I also have use of my fingers (they are squint lookin thought when i type or play the piano). I cant lift my hand above my head. i can lift it jst bout shoulder height. It looks bent when i am standing bcos i cant straighten it completely.
Well maybe you can work somethin out from that?! if not thanx for tryin, im sure it wont matter if i dont fill that bit of the form out. But now im jst quite interested to find out which part of my arm is effected.

It's Karen here from the UK group, sorry to be late picking up this message, i've been on holiday.
Don't worry about the form, it's not important to know the type of injury/nerves damaged etc all we want to know is the basic area of your arm which is affected - Eg your elbow or your shoulder and elbow or whole arm etc etc - it's not even that important to fill in, feel free to leave it blank if you wish
