C5-6 Caging procedure

Not sure if good or bad news??? Had EMG and nerve study that showed damage all in C5-6. No options except surgery since disc is pushing on spinal cord as well. Dr said it was a common injury from people thrown from Motorcycles. Anyone heard of relief of BPI and pain after cage surgery on C5-6? It's been 8 weeks since car accident and I have now lost all movement above my elbow and most down my pinky and ring figner and the pain is everywhere and horrible. Just wondering if anyone had this procedure or knows of anyone who had???
