gosh two years ago the thing was SO cheap and now it's about $20 (at amazon.com)

I saw it at Target for $29.99 (and my eyeballs popped out) - I paid $4.99 for Maia's trainer on sale at amazon 2 years ago. 2 years later it still works great!

I didnt know that the water had to warmer. SO I beter not bring Justice to the inside pool any more good thing I only brought her twice. How about the beaches are they even safe then

Just lurking and saw this posting. Over here we have a swimsuit called the polyotter. There is a system where these suits are leant, (or hired), to anyone who needs them within the support group, for as long as they need them. I'm not entirely sure how it works, I suppose they relied on donations of the suits as the children outgrew them.

If you don't have access to a heated therapy pool (92-94 degrees) then I don't think you should discount swimming in a "regular" pool unless your specialist contraindicates it. Check and see if cooler temperatures are harmful; they're probably just not as helpful.

glenis - yes we have something like pollyotter here too!

yes - karen's right about the temp - better to get the children in the water. Beach is perfect really because there is SO MUCH you gain from being in the ocean - all the minerals and the sun. It does so much more for your health in general - never mind the fun and the movement.

But I'd watch out for a cold pool because some of the kids are very sensitive to cold and because if you had arthritis you wouldn't go in a cold pool because it would pain your joint. Same thing. Just ask your child if it's comfortable or not to see how it is affecting them.

Water is GREAT!! get in there and splash splash splash!!! I must have been a dolphin in a past life or something.
