- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

NEW DISCOVERY: Tongue Is A Problem in theDentist Chair for EVERYONE
Many times in the Dentist Chair for any kind of procedure, my tongue has given both Dental Hygeinests,Dental Ass't's and Dentists trouble as it keeps moving around and I am unable to have control of it
(especially when I'm trying to breathe Nitro?/gas thru my nose!) Today, I realized it must be BPI/Nerve damage on the left side....as I am LOBPI..it just has to be another Secondary Injury/Medical Issue. People in the Dental offices have always comment on this and say they never saw it before me...
Am I on to something?? ..or just weird?!!...LOL
HUGS to Y'all,
Carolyn J

For your bpi to affect your tongue would be pretty interesting. From my anatomy that I have had so far the nerve that controls the tongue is cranial nerve number 9 meaning its located on the brain stem. For it to be injured would be really bad.
So hopefully it has nothing to do with anything other than a busy tongue
Hope that helps,
Amy 20 ROBPI from MN

Amy....YOU "Smarty Pants", you!! Of Course you are right!! ...Except they at the Dentist's office called it A Wicked Tongue 'cause it distrupted them immensely and frustrated tem to no end ,they could not find a way to work and stopped after 2 procedures instead of doing 3 things.

I wonder if that "wicked" tongue is genetic. My kids have been at the dentist this last week and with all but the youngest they had a TON of trouble with the kids tongues being very active. I have never been told that before, but DH told me that the dentist has always told him that!
