In Belgium they prescribed a b12 vitamin every day. I don't know if it works; the docs at the Mayo don't either, but they say it can't hurt.

I have also heard b vitamins help. B-6 50-100 mg is recommended by one of the Drs from Froedert for patients with nerve damage.
