Kinesio taping
Kinesio taping
We started the kinesio taping on my son last week (20 months). His OT told us it should stay on for up to 6 days but...........he will pull it off after few hours or the tape will start rolling off and not "stick" on. Any suggestion? Do you experience the same problem with your child?

Re: Kinesio taping
There are different types of tape you can use. Maybe you need to switch to a tape that has a stronger glue base?

Re: Kinesio taping
The kinesio tape is heat activated so make sure to really rub it when it is being applied. The tape should last any where from 3 to 7 days. My tape generally lasts 6 days but right now my current taping will only last me one or two more days because I went swimming the same day I got my tape applied.
Good luck with getting the tape to stick!

Re: Kinesio taping
Our son's tape will come off prematurely (within the first 24 hours) if his skin isn't completely clean when the tape goes on; any grease or residue seems to interfere with the adhesive. He also tends to get much more skin irritation unless he's had a bath within the last 12 hours or so.
Rubbing the tape to "activate" it is also crucial, as Amy mentioned.
