Surgery on 11/17
Hello,
My 2 year old son Jason will be having surgery with Dr. Waters at Boston Children's on Thursday.
He is having the secondary procedure (muscle/tendon transfers).
Please wish us luck!
Will anyone else be there on Thursday???

Good Luck on Thursday. My son had this surgery with Dr. Waters when he was 21/2. He is now 6 years old(wow! It seems like just yesterday). The results were amazing.

God's speed in your travels and your child's recovery. I am sure all will go well as Dr. Waters is an excellent surgeon. Don't leave Boston too quickly; it's a great town. Go to Little Italy and have some wonderful Italian desserts, or to the top of the John Hancock Center. In the middle of Harvard Square is an awesome children's bookstore...
I'll be there in spirit...
All the best...

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

First I want to thank everyone who took time out of their day to respond to me. I'm not a frequent poster, so I truly appreciate it. Everyone that is a part of these boards is truly wonderful.
We are home now and Jason is adjusting to the spica cast better than I could have ever imagined. The days are fairly easy. Nights are kind of hard still...he's not a good sleeper to begin with, so with this cast on, it's even harder for him to get comfy. But 4 weeks is nothing....we can certainly deal with this.
Thanks for all your well wishes. I have such confidence in Dr. Waters and what he did. I cannot wait to see the new function that Jason will gain as a result of this.
Will keep you all posted!!!!!
Hugs,
Dani
