Hey All,
http://www.frappr.com/ubpntbpi
A pushpin type map has been started on the General Board for all to add themselves on as they wish, and I thought it a great idea, so I started one for TBPIs.
It's extremely easy to add yourself to it. If you care to do so, maybe include date of injury and which arm is injured (or not). If anyone has ideas of anything else that should be included, please post it and add away!
I've also requested that the maps initial view be global so we might get the 'whole' picture, but you can easily zoom in to your neck of the woods with the 'zoom toggle' on the upper left corner of the map.
I think it's a great way for us all to get a better 'picture' of the community we wished we never joined!

Cheers,
Christopher

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

Thanks Chris, I went to add myself to the other map and was disappointed it only covered the US, thanks for this!

Bouncing this to the top...I think this is a terrific idea...went and signed up for it when I saw the one linked to in the General forum, but stoopidly thought it was for N. America only...didn't see the nifty zoom and slide controls on the left!! (brain fart!)

Chris, that is COOL AS GRITS (that's the way we say it in the South). Kind of like Google Earth but just for us.
Thank you so much for getting this organized!
Take care,
Ellen
