Things to do in Texas???

Post by Karrie in MD. »

Has anyone been to that Downtown Aquarium? If so, how was it and how far is it from TCH? How can you get there? We will most likely be staying at the Crowne Plaza again and I would like to take Kyle to this. Thanks for any info.

We drove past the aquarium. It looks and sounds really cool. A taxi would most likely be your best bet to get there. Have you looked at it's website? I'm not sure how far.......but it's not too bad. We're thinking of going there next month when we're there.

Karrie - the Children's Museum has way more to offer than the downtown aquarium.. I was there and it was a big disappointment actually.... and it would especially be a disappointment if you go to Baltimore aquarium.... oh..and it was expensive...and forget about eating there... REALLY expensive

With the children's museum you can be there for hours... and eat lunch there and all.... It was a great deal and very much fun.

We were also thinking of going to the downtown aquarium this time. This is our third time there and just looking for something new to do with Nicholas. The children's museum is a lot of fun and so is the butterfly museum. Nicholas really like that. Stacey

We were just there last week and went to the downtown aquarium and it was like Francine said very expensive. For 2 adults and 2 kids it was $30 and then we had to pay $8 parking.
It was very interesting and unique but for the price it was not worth it. If it wasn't for my daughter being absolutly in love with sealife we would have gone to the Children's Museum or the Zoo.

We were there last week too. I saw it on the hype for the superbowl. It was as francine said. It was expensive and we did eat there. But the food was good. Ther aquarium was cool and Jake was impressed.
In one section there are two huge Parrots that screech something aweful. Jake just about jumped out of my arms. But the (I swear) the parrot said Hello Jacob. Jake just started jabbering away at the birds. Then he walked off to the next section and everytime the birds would screech off he would go to tell the birds where to go. It was too funny. Getting there was not a problem if you are used to driving in downtown area's with one way signs all over the place.

The zoo is really close to TCH. I have walked to it from there. And the price is reasonable.

The new metro is up and running. It goes right down the middle of Fannin, so you should be able to get to lots of places easily even if you don't have a car.

The childrens museum is the must see!!! We thoroughly enjoyed it.The interactive TV station, the play grocery store and the real eggs hatching are nice but the science and technology sections are interactive and really fun. You could spend the whole day there easily. The zoo is nice but if you've seen one you've pretty much seen them all.
