Just returned from TCH
Just returned from TCH
I just returned from TCH yesterday and I must admit that it was a trying experience. I had to travel along because my husband was unable to get off from work. My daughter had the primary surgery performed and I found out that the doctors here(Chicago)had been lying to me all this time about the actual damage that was caused at birth.
What I found out was that she had a partial avulsion at C5, complete avulsion at C7,C8, & T1. I was upset to find this out because the neurologist was telling us that all of her nerves were intact and that they were just weak. What a load of crap!!!!!
I am now hoping for the best with the nerve graft and that my daughter will get some use of her arm.

Erica - I hope that when things settle down you contact the other doctors and maybe send them a copy of the surgical report. Let them know what that could have meant for Jada had you gone with their opinion.
On the other hand - I'm so grateful you got to a group that knows their stuff and does great work! Jada has a great momma!!
You know of course, that there will be a long wait for things to start happening.... it's the longest wait of your life, trust me on that. But it will come in and when it does - it will start tiny and each individual little move will become so miraculous.
I hope you let us know when it all starts happening.... I love to go up on my roof and do the bpi dance!! (joking of course)
big hugs,
the hard part is over,
Maia and I will pray for Jada's recovery,
francine
