CT scan at CHOP
Has anyone had experience with a CT scan at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia? My son is scheduled for one and I want to know what to expect. You can post here or email me directly and I will ask more specific questions then.

I don't know about the ct scan but my daughter had an mri done there and they were wonderful. How old is your son? I can let you know what the mri was like but the experience for the ct scan may be very different.

Maia had a CT scan done there when she was 2...
it was on the 3rd floor
you can stay if you are not pregnant - you can wear a lead apron
they can sedate if you wish (they do IV sedation)
but the test was very short -probably less than 5 minutes
the room was dark
the machine is not like an MRI (tube)...it is like table and a donut at the end
the table goes into the donut but it's very open

Maia was scheduled there last week but there were problems with insurance capitation ... so now we are scheduled at St. Christophers for NOvember 17th...
