Has anyone tried this type of shoulder brace?
Has anyone tried this type of shoulder brace?
Take a look at:

I was thinking that this might let me get back on a motorcycle without too much pain.
Thanks,
Dennis

Hi Dennis, that sling looks great, i remember its something similar to what Eddie lawson used after shoulder dislocation many moons ago so he could ride the french GP in '88 and he won! Looks great for prevention of shoulder re-dislocation after a fall, i ordered their catalogue thanks for the link mate and happy hooning in the dirt!

Looks fantastic. But, would it not fit if there is muscle wastage on the arm around the bicep. It looks as though it needs to grip the bicep area in order to lift the shoulder joint up and support it???
Re: Has anyone tried this type of shoulder brace?
ok i'll bite. Its looks great i have a brace that is similiar but it is thermoskin so its meant to retain body heat i wear it at nite when im having shoulder pain. This looks more like it could be worn all day under your clothes. i'll let you know i ordered one what the heck $44 bucks incl. shipping and i've spent more than that on a drs visits that usaully go nowhere.
I'm all for anything to make dealing with this easier.
BTW> I'm still riding my bike. I haven't ventured real far but i've done a couple of 50 mile rides for starters. And yes Kath i told my mother shes not real happy.

Re: Has anyone tried this type of shoulder brace?
hey guys
I bought the brace. It really gives me support and after wearing it my shoulder feels great. Thats the good news. The bad is it is tight under my arm and seems to aggravate the spikes in my hand at the end of the day. I liked it so much at first i wore it for two days at work since i stand most of the day there. I havent wore it in a few days though I was really having lot of pain at night. Hard to sleep and once I fell asleep I didnt want to get up.
I have a Thermoskin shoulder brace that gives more support and is more comfortable. But its thermoskin(uses body heat to deep heat muscles) a bit warm for Florida. I sleep with it at nite when my shoulder is really aching.
I believe either brace would be a big benefit to a new tbpi to help support the weight of a flail arm. At first the wieght of my flail arm was a big hinderance. I would have loved to have a brace to relieve some of the pull on my shoulder. Although i probably was better off building up my shoulder strength to help carry my flail arm. Luckily I have no real bad sublaxion and my arm doesnt bother me as bad anymore.
I ordered my brace from the EVS directly. I showed it to my brother and he told me yeah i got one of those for riding . Funny i had to find out about one here. And he also told me he set up the store as a dealer when he bought his. LOL i paid full price but still worth it. $44 bucks to the door.

That support is like the one I was given by my hand physio here in sunny Wolverhampton U.K .The one I have is called Omotrain and it comes in different sizes as My shoulder muscle has wasted but the area where my bicep is was badly mashed and I had to have skin grafts as well as a muscle tranfer on my bicep so it is bigger than before .But after using it it does take some of pain away from the weight off my arm but it does feel like I am wearing a striaght jacket all restricted across my chest but I am not a small bloke anyway so that might explain it.
