Re: Medication
My current doctor is giving me Maxidone. It is a typoe of vicodine, works pretty good for the pain i am receiving. The only problem is that it is a narcotic and I will be cut off soon. If you find a medication that works good for you can you please update me. I will keep you posted on anything I find out.

I take Loracet 10/650. It is also a narcotic. I only take this as a last resort. If nothing else works. I average about one to two a week. Luckily I have had no problem getting the prescription filled because I do not take them everyday. I could use them everyday but I don't take them.

Re: Medication
Hi,
I'm taking carbamazepine (also called tegretol) right now. It seems to dull the pain, but it makes me dizzy and light headed. My vision gets blurry from time to time and I get a dry mouth, but it's better than being in pain.

Re: Medication

Hi People,
I hope you don't mind me asking...just curious as to why people here mention being 'cut off' from using a prescribed narcotic after a certain length of time using it/them, or am I misunderstanding it? Do they then prescribe you something else in place of the narcotic?
Don't want to stir up a hornets nest here, but I am totally baffled....would love some answers? Email me privately if you prefer. liz@tbpi-group.org

Hi Andrew this is hdcrash and Iam curenntly taking neurotin which is actually a type of ceasar medicine. My doctor said that most narcotics will not work on that type of pain.If you are taking it though you have to becareful when you stop because if you dont taper off of it it could actually cause you to have ceasers. Good luck
Re: Medication
My doctor prescribed neurotin to me because narcotics genarally dont work on this type of pain.Becareful with coming off you have to taper off the medicine slowly because it is a ceaser medicine. hdcrash
