Looking for a Specialist
Hello Everyone,
My son was born with a R brachial plexus injury. He had a nerve graft at the age of 6 months and a schoulder arthoscopy at 8 years old. He is now 10. He still has the crook at the elbow and the arm is still noticeably thinner and smaller. We reside in SC and I was looking for a specialist. He currently go to the Shriner's Hospital in Greenville but his doctor is leaving. I wanted to know if anyone on her knew of any good physicians

Re: Looking for a Specialist
My daughter was born Dec 15, 2013 and has a LOBPI. We have seen specialists down at Johns Hopkins. They have a pediatric brachial plexus clinic where the directors are Dr. Allan Belzberg (Neurosurgeon) and Dr. Richard Redett (Plastic/Reconstructive Surgeon). The visit was informative but the administrative staff leaves much to be desired. Because of them, getting in contact with the surgeons was more difficult than I would like. And without the surgeons being accessible, I wasn't entirely comfortable moving forward with surgery with them. That said, I am seeking a second opinion, which isn't likely to change since my daughter still cannot supinate, externally rotate, or bend the left arm. We are going to see Dr. Peter Waters at Boston Children's Hospital. I have read many wonderful things about his team. I am looking forward to that visit.
