The start of our journey in Australia
The start of our journey in Australia
Hi everyone
I am a mum to a beautiful 5 month old boy who has only recently been diagnosed with a RBPI.
He was born with ventouse assistance as he was posterior throughout my entire labour. We (paediatrician and paediatric physio) assume this is how the injury occurred.
Though we have no idea how it is that his symptoms only presented themselves at 3 months of age? He has only since then started putting his arm down by his side, curling his wrist, reduced weight bearing, lacks some arm control, hikes his shoulder, has reduced grasp accuracy etc. We have been assured that his injury is only mild, but we are yet to see our specialist. And if it is mild, why have symptoms worsened in the last two months? So many questions ..
Anyway, I am so so pleased to have found this wonderful resource! I'm looking forward to reading stories of others' and hopefully supporting each other
