Rosalynn Update

Post by Cara »

Well we have made it through the past three weeks. Sorry I haven't been on here, but I haven't been able to sneak away much. My husband got very sick after the surgery (they put him on Cipro, the pharamcist where he works told everyone he had anthrax :) It was a a UTI. Aanyway Rosalynn has two new teeth since the surgery. We go back to St. Louis tommorrow and she gets the splint off. I still have about a week and a half off work to get her adjusted and new therapy schedules set up. The scars look awful. Any suggestions?

Did they teach you how to do scar massage? When you go to your appt., ask the PT/OT to show you how to do scar massage and ask them what they recommend to use. We were told to use vitamin E or cocoa butter. I use a cocoa butter lotion that has vit E in it. Some have posted about success with Mederma to use for the scar massage (fyi, it's very expensive!! and is available online or at Wal-Mart). That must have been stressful with some people thinking your husband had anthrax; glad he doesn't hav it. -Tina
