Activation Excercises?
Activation Excercises?
Hey Guys & Girls,
Hope you are all well..
Happy Easter
Well im 4 months & 26 days from my last distall bypass surgery.
Using what i believe to be a fasiclle nerve from my tricep to innervate my bicep.
For initial flexxion of my elbow, which used i believe to be a fasiclle of my ulnar nerve, i initially had to flex my wrist to bend at the elbow, until my body learnt otherwise.
does anyone know what active action is required to activate the deltoid?
would simply flexing my tri-cep when my arm is straight down form some sort of active movement? i can feel something move @ the front of my shoulder, but fear it is just a tendon or the like.
god bless
Shaun.

Re: Activation Excercises?
What nerve is innervating your deltoid? Did you have a nerve transfer/graft to the deltoid?
Ulnar nerve transfer to the biceps (Oberlin Procedure) can be activated also by spreading the fingers apart as wide as possible and squeezing them back to each other, side by side. The unlar nerve runs under the elbow to the hand causes the "funny bone" sensation when you elbow gets smacked in just the right way.
You can Google "ulnar nerve muscle supply" or "Oberlin Procedure" to see what movement will activate that nerve.
Good luck! Go through your records, or call you doctor and find out what nerve, if any, was used to innervate your deltoid.
