thank you
thank you
it is close to thanks giving. so i decided to be thankful to all you wonderful people that were so informing,a shoulder to cry on,and commited to the cause of letting people understand this horrible affliction. i don't know where i'd be if i didn't find this place. you all need to give yourself a big hand and a pat on the back. so to all my one armed sisters and brothers i am thankful that you were there for me in my dire time of need and helped me understand that it wasn't the end of the world but a new chapter in this book we call life. cheers to all of you and have a wonderful holiday.

?????? what does everyone on here hate me or somethin??????
Re: thank you
Actually, I was thinking how great it was that you were sounding like you were in a good place--until your last response
This is such a wonderful place for us to rant and share our pain, but it's also great to hear when someone has got some healing out of it.
Good for you for working through things enough to feel thankful again! That's a hard thing to do after what we've all been through, and you should feel proud of yourself!

Re: thank you
Hey Daniel,
I was thinking the same thing as Heddi after I read your post, happy to see the great progress you have made and know how critical it is to have a positive attitude moving forward. You have come a long way and it is great to see.
I also know from talking to lots of people on the phone, there are lots of people coming here and reading the posts, they just don't respond much.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I will thank you for being such an advocate for the sling and helping others do what they need to do to get back active again and regain their life.
Again, great to see how much progress you have made and also for reminding all of us to remember how many great things we have in our lives to be thankful for.

Re: thank you
Daniel sometimes I think you capture the essence of all that is right with what we've been dealt.
You bring a youth-like sense to this dread that I'm sure is much appreciated.
I know I've even told you how 'fresh' you are. Just when I think you've got it you slap down an ace of spades.
Why on earth would you think anyone here, on these boards that have given so much to so many,
why would you think you are hated? What could possibly have gone wrong?
In the spirit of what's thought to be your original intent,
I too give great thanks to these boards and the people on them. I would have been lost without them.
A big thanks to you all and your families.
Peace and laughter,
Scott

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.
