anybody use a prosthetic
Has anybody heard of using a prosthetic over their bpi arm? Caralyn was wanting to get more useful function from her arm and the doctors at Portland Shriners suggested a Prosthesis that would fit right over her arm and would be supported by a shoulder saddle. It is going to be a pain to put on but they said it would be the same idea as having an amputation and using the prosthesis and it would give her some support for her arm and shoulder. Anybody else heard of this? She is pretty excited about trying it. The orthopedic man is coming to Alaska in May and he is going to bring it up with him (they already did the molds for her arm and hand)

I dont have any pictures of it. They did show us a general idea of what it would look like. It will hang lower than her actual arm because the attachment has to set below her hand. We will see as soon as she gets it we will take pictures and post them. She is doing really well, she working at a nursery, planting plants and weeding that kind of thing. They are really good to her. She is having to go back to occupational and physical therapy 2-3 times a week again, her back and shoulder are constantly in pain. It is finally starting to look like spring here, it is still getting in the 20's at night but during the day it is 30-40 degrees. Supposed to snow this weekend though
