2nd child after bpi
Hello my first child was born 8-27-02 with a lbpi. She had 4 avulsions and 1 tear. She is doing very well and we are now having a second child. I am very nervous. i am 23 weeks pregnant and we have already decided to do a c-section. Any other advise to give the doctor or even myself before I do this, i am so nervous and was just wondering if anyone else was like this with their second or third child and how you delt with it?
Thanks, Tisha

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I believe there are a few other threads on this same topic that were previously posted if you want to do a search. My advice as a L&D nurse if you are having a cesarean is ask for a Duramorph spinal for the anesthesia. You are able to get up and move around much easier! And ask to get up and move around within 6 hours of delivery. The sooner you are able to stand at the bedside and take a few steps (even if it is just across the room), the better for you. Good luck.

Congrats Tisha!
There are some other posts that relate to your question.
I myself am 37 weeks with my 3rd child. Our 2nd daughter was born with an injury. Going into this one was very scary. We after seeing 12 differnt Dr.'s are going with an OB, a Midwife and a Doula for a natural birth. We have a great support team, and have a backup plan. I wish you the best of luck and you will be in my prayers. Never stop asking questions, and remember you have to search yourself as well to see what you are most comfortable with.

Congrats! I too just posted on this topic a few weeks ago. We are pregnant with our 2nd child first with ROBPI. I am extremely scared and nervous but am arming myself with knowledge this time. My NEW OB and I have talked about many options we can take and he said ultimately the decision is up to me and he will support it 100% . I am only 14 weeks right now and am hoping to have a natural birth. However we will see as I progress in this pregnancy and what baby wants! Good luck to you and feel free to e-mail me!!

Congratulations!
My third child was born on 8/27/1999!
She was born after my son who was born with a ROBPI.
My OB was a different OB who monitored my progress every step of the way. I gave birth to my third child naturally and with the help of my OB she was born without any incidents. THANK GOD!I was so nervous throughout the whole time, especially the moment I walked into the labor and delivery room. My OB kept me calm and was there every step of the way.
I know it is nerve wracking, however make sure your OB knows everything you went through with your first child. He will monitor you carefully.

Re: 2nd child after bpi
I had another child after my BPI baby. I was planning a vag birth which was to be induced early. My doctor was very supportive of the whole thing. But when I went in to start the induction the on-call doc had a very bad bedside manner and was really unsupportive of the decision we had already made. She questioned me at length and basically acted as if I was making the worse decision ever. She even went so far as to "remind" me that my baby could die and that if I chose to push the baby out she would not really help much that I would have to do it. None of this was helpful to say to a nine months pregnant women who is hormal as all get out! Anyway she scared me into a c-section. My own doc did it the next week. It was a wonderful experience and I would even consider it again if I was blessed by the possibity of another baby (which would be my 4th- my bpi child is #2). I was worried that this birth would feel less than the other but it was actually my best. I even bonded faster to this child than I did my others. I think that is because I was not so tired from the labor! Anyway the one thing I have heard about c/s and bpi is to make sure they do make the incision big enough. It hurst more if they don't and it can cause a bpi if they are not careful. It is rare but does happen!
Many Blessings & Congratulations!
