Prayers for the little one!
Prayers for the little one!
I don't want to over step my boundaries but Erin, (that post's on this site) has a daughter a few weeks older than mine. Well she just needs some extra prayers, I'll leave it Erin to explain later...
But for now would anyone mind throwing Stella's health, well-being & recovery in with your daily chat w/ the man in charge?
Can we also throw one in for Stella's parents?
Thanks in advance everyone!!
Many Blessings to you & your Families!

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.

Re: Prayers for the little one!
You guys are making me tear up, and I'm in the hospital's family resource center! Thank you all very much, I needed this pick me up right now! Yesterday we were told we'd get to go home next Friday, I didn't believe it could be that long since we've already been here 12 days, but yes, we've got at least another week before they can close Stella up. Her BPI(primary)surgery was Sept.12th, then the incision on her neck/shoulder became infected and we've been in the hospital since. The doctor had to open her back up and now the wound is packed daily and she's on IV antibiotics every 6 hours, but we're trying to stay positive! She just needs the time to heal, that's what I keep telling myself! She is SO tough! At her first dressing change the anesthisiologist(sp?) said that if she (the anestisiologist) had taken that amount of meds she'd be flat on the floor, but not Stella! Stella was still screaming and trying to hit and kick them all away from her! It made me laugh later, it's that toughness that'll get her through! Thank you all for you're prayers and good wishes, I very much appreciate everyone on here!

Oops, I meant Sept 26th was the primary surg date, not the 12th!

Re: Prayers for the little one!
Thanks for the update Erin! Hope Stella is doing well with not much to do. You are so right, her toughness will come in very handy later. No one will want to pick a fight with this strong little girl!
