DJs surgery

DJ had his tendon transfer surgery with Dr. wahl at the Shriners in St Louis, MO a few weeks ago. She put in a statue of liberty cast. Not sure this cast is going to make it to Sept 10. It sure has not slowed him down any. Excited and a little scared to get the cast off to see what changes will occu...

??? about tendon transfer

I know this question is asked frequently on this board BUT I am asking again. Our son is not quite 3 and has only had botox around 1 year of age. As of right now he has great hand mobility/strength. His external rotation is a little past neutral and he can lift his arm where the elbow (though bent) ...

shoulder/scapula bracing

Another question... Has anyone had any success with or even tried some sort of brace that can be worn while letting the arm function? If DJ's shoulder is moving backwards because of lack of strength shouldn't there be some sort of apparatus he could wear to support that area and still be able to go ...

MRI results

We just got the results of DJ's MRI today. The shoulder is still in place but it is starting to move backward. Of course they want to do tendon transfer surgeries but I'm not convinced this is the time to do this. How early have any of you done this surgery and what were yourresults?

Re: Michael is a ROBPI 9 year old w/ headaches

We also see Rinaldi for BPI, we have an appt on the 10th. My daughter has only seen our ped. but the migraines seem to be controllable (?). They get the worst during the summer while she is competing in rodeo. It is hard to eat on a reular schedule when she is waiting for her events/age group. We ma...

Re: Michael is a ROBPI 9 year old w/ headaches

Do you go to CMH in KCMO? If so who are you seeing? That is where we go with our 16 month old. I don't know about headaches associated with BPI but my 12 year old get migraines. After about a year of going through them about every 2 months, we narrowed down the cause to food sensitivies and schedule...

Pain in afftected arm?

DJ is 16 months old and does not sleep well at all! We have 3 older daughters that all slept quietly all night from 6 weeks old. Not sure if this is just a difference in kids or if it could posibly be due to pain in his arm. How do you tell? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Than...

Re: Dr. Nath

I have had questions about Dr. Nath as well. My OT went to his site and got his book. After reading ( it is very technical) it I was not convinced. We currently our being seen by the BPI team at Children's Mercy Hospital in KC, MO. After talking to them (and they do encourage other opinions) we deci...

Re: Positional flat head

Although our son did not have this issue,he did have trouble in tummy time. We attributed the negative reaction to being on his tummy to the non use of his arm. At 10 months we had him looked at by a chiropractor and had his neck adjusted. The next day he was rolling over on his own and pushing up w...
