Re: Botox appointment

<t>Shannah experienced no side effects from the botox itself. The worst bit was when she was coming round from the anaesthetic, she became very distressed and was crying and kicking her legs. I massaged her legs which seemed to help a bit. I've heard this can be a common reaction to the anaesthetic,...

Re: Botox appointment

<r>Bit more info for you. The Botox is injected under a general anaesthetic so no need for EMLA cream at the site, it was used on her hand for the anaesthetic though. Our surgeon recommended physio 3xweek, luckily for us the pt said we could do this at home so not too many visits to hospital. I aske...

Re: Botox appointment

<t>My daughter had the botox injection last September, she had other surgery at the same time so can't really say how quickly she recovered from it alone, however she came home that same evening and was back to her normal self within a week. There was a little boy on the ward who had the botox injec...

Re: Car seat escape (not bpi related)

<t>I had this problem with my daughter when she was about 18 months old. I was so shocked that she could undo the buckle and I went back to the shop where I bought the seat and asked their advice. They weren't much help, just told me it was illegal to cover the button in any way. I rang the manufact...

Normal deliveries for subsequent children???

Could I through your messages ask how many of you opted for a normal delivery with subsequent children. I had a normal delivery, mainly because I was terrified of surgery and luckily everything was ok, but I seem to be in the minority over here.

Re: swimming ? for Francine

<t>Just lurking and saw this posting. Over here we have a swimsuit called the polyotter. There is a system where these suits are leant, (or hired), to anyone who needs them within the support group, for as long as they need them. I'm not entirely sure how it works, I suppose they relied on donations...

Re: New Here and have a question

<t>Thanks everyone for your messages. <br/> Shannah is a very active girl and will always have a go at anything. Currently, she has dance classes, (ballet, tap, disco, theatrecraft and streetdance). She has swimming lessons and can swim unaided on her front, on her back she goes in circles, and she ...

Re: Hairy Arm on BPI side?

My daughters affected arm is also hairier than the other. The hairs are much longer although quite fine and light in colour.

New Here and have a question

<t>Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what sort of things I can expect my daughter to have difficulty with as she gets older. She's 8 years old, right erbs palsy, fairly good rom. Her shoulder slopes down so we've already had problems with strappy tops/swimming costumes etc. Her sc...

Re: anyone with average weight baby?

<t>Shannah was 8lbs 10oz, and I am 5' 1". She was born very quickly (half hour). I've been led to believe that the size of your hands and feet are in relation to your pelvic size, it could be an old wives tale but would be true in my case as I have very small hands and wear size 2/3 shoes. <br/> My ...
