Re: new to forum, hello all
<t>My son had his accident in Aug 04, he had just graduated from H.S. He has his own lawn mowing business (he does the work) and he works for a construstion company (out in the field), he can also weld. This injury does not have to keep you from working and making a living. You just adapt and keep o...

Re: Hello Board
Thanks for the correct spelling of the doctors name in Virginia. The guy at my church had his surgery about 18 months after his accident.

Re: Request for information.
Sorry to hear about your injury. I would go to a BPI doctor a.s.a.p. My son went to Dr. Nath right there in Houston, he would be a good start and close by.
Good Luck

Re: Hello Board
<t>My son had his injury in August 2004 and through my son we met a man who goes to our church that has the same kind of injury. His was 30 years ago and there was a doctor, I believe in Virginia, her name is Julie Teres (the spelling on the last name is not correct). She still is in practice, but I...

Re: Not so new injury
<t>Sam, I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like you need to go to a BPI specialist, the sooner the better. Neurologist can't do anything for you! And you need to go to pain management to get your meds straighten out because the pain is the worst, they will make it a little better. You also need to go t...

Re: New and have questions
Zoe,
Dr. Nath did surgery on my son in Dec. 2004. He was 19 at the time. He did really good with his recovery, it was about three weeks, after we left the hospital and could start OT at four weeks. Just do excatly what the doctor orders.

Re: Spinal Cord Stimulator
<t>I agree with LizzyB, about the RDS pain and TBPI pain. My son had the trial stimulator implanted back in October. He did not like it in his body at all. He had the Dr. take it out in 5 days. It did help with the pain somewhat, but not worth all of the trouble. Besides feeling the stimulation in h...

Re: What pain meds are you taking?
<t>Cody's doctor wants him to change from Neurontin to Lyrica, but one of the warnings is that if you are a male in child bearing years you could become less fertile and cause birth defects. I would like some normal grandchildren sometime in the future. So right now he is sticking to the neurontin, ...
