Re: i'm just curious???
Sorry that I can't be of help as far as an answer, but $200 a month for MEDICAID? That's more than I spent for my regular insurance through work! Have you considered asking an attorney to look into it?

The avatars are great!
We'll recognize each other at the picnic and won't have to play "what's your screen name?"
Now I just have to find a picture of my "good" side....

Re: Newbee
<r>The idea that the vertigo is a result of the OBPI has not been "proven" medically; just an idea that I have "kicked around" with my doctor. He is VERY aware of the Erb's palsey and has never made me feel like it was either "nothing." He treats it like a chronic condition that needs to be dealt wi...

Re: Attention teen and adult injured, Awareness needs your help!
<t>I agree completely with Marieke!<br/> <br/> When I was a child, my mother wouldn't let me do anything! I wasn't allowed to learn to ride a bike - for fear of hurting my "good" arm and being left with two "useless" arms. I wasn't allowed to learn to swim - for fear I wouldn't be able to do it and ...

Re: Newbee
<t>Any time I spend helping other people realize that they aren't the only ones with this injury is time very well spent! <br/> <br/> When I first found this board, I cried a lot. Sometimes because I realized I wasn't the only one and other times because I realize how much worse it was for others. I...

Re: BPI Camp
<t>I would LOVE to be able to meet with other adults with OBPI! I just recently found the boards and learned I wasn't alone! <br/> <br/> I would like to just have some "down" time to visit informally and chat. It doesn't have to be any more than that. If there were presentations on the injuries and ...

A.R.T. & massage therapy
<t>I just wanted to share the information with others here that may be experiencing pain in their non BPI side due to overuse of that shoulder/arm. <br/> <br/> I have used massage therapy for chronic muscle pain control for over a year now. It helps considerable to keep the muscles in my back relaxe...

<t>It sounds like you and I have a in common. <br/> <br/> I was born in 68 and as 9 lbs 12 oz. I too was too big and the doctors used the clamps to yank me out. (My mom never had a single stitch and I ended up "crippled for life." Sometimes I felt that was so unfair but now I realize it led me to me...

Re: Las Vegas Pressure
<t>I grew up not having any clue why my "crippled arm" - as I thought of it - was the way it was. My mom told me it was Erb's palsey and they'd done surgery when I was two but that was about it. I don't think she understood it completely, so I never did. It wasn't until last year - at 39 - that I st...

Re: Weird dreams
<t>I always had dreams of falling when I was a child. My biggest fear has always been falling for two reasons:<br/> 1.) Due to my LOBPI, my balance has always been screwy, making me more prone to falling.<br/> 2.) I always get hurt when I fall since I can't "catch" myself "normally." <br/> Maybe the...
